Frequently Asked Questions
Some of the most Frequently Asked Questions by our Patients and/or Caregivers...
My Prescriber told me they sent my prescription to you, how will I know when it is ready?
At Valeda Rx we work to keep you informed every step of the way. Upon receipt of your prescription, you will receive a call from one of our Managed Care Coordinators informing you of the status of your prescription and provide you with an estimated time as to when your prescription may be ready. There are multiple factors that determine the length to fulfilling your prescription order and we will work as quickly as we can to respond to your needs.

What if I cannot afford my copay?
Valeda Rx partners with pharmaceutical manufacturers, 501C3 and other funding organizations to identify funds available to our patients in need of specialty medications. We will work with you to determine eligibility and where possible, enroll you in a program that can save you from incurring high out of pocket costs.
Why does it take so long to fill my medication?
Waiting for your medication can be the most frustrating feeling. At Valeda Rx we make it our goal to work with a sense of urgency and accuracy as we understand that YOU are on the other end waiting for a call regarding your medication. Due to the high-cost of Specialty medications, they often require authorizations through your insurance company. Valeda Rx will work with your insurance company and your Prescriber to initiate and follow up on your authorization, all while ensuring that you are kept in the loop and not wondering what is going on with your medication.
How do I know if Valeda Rx is in network with my insurance?
Valeda Rx will reach out to you for a Welcome Call to review the information we received on your insurance coverage. Next, we will contact your insurance company to obtain coverage for the requested medication. Each time your medication is filled, Valeda Rx will verify your insurance eligibility before calling you to schedule the delivery of your medication and while on the call with you, we will confirm that you have had no changes in coverage since our last call.
What if my medication is not covered?
Unfortunately, not all prescriptions requests get approved through your insurance with a prior authorization. If your insurance will not cover a product with an authorization, Valeda Rx will work with you and your Prescriber to review options considered medically equivalent that will be covered by your insurance. Your Prescriber will always be consulted prior to any change in prescription.
What do I do if I have a Side Effect?
Side effects of medication can be scary. A Valeda Rx Pharmacist is available to you 24/7/365.
What do I do if I am told I cannot get my medication through Valeda Rx?
In the event that Valeda Rx is unable to support your specific medication needs, we will proactively notify you and your Prescriber to prevent disruption in your therapy to advise of next steps.
How do I receive my medications in the event of an emergency or disaster?
In the event of an emergency/event affecting either the location of the Pharmacy or your (the patient’s) location, Valeda Rx shall provide alternative sources for you to obtain your prescriptions in the geographic area in which you are served, including coordination of transfer to a pharmacy that can best serve your immediate needs.
What do I do if my medication is recalled?
Valeda Rx proactively screens all recall notifications delivered by the FDA. In the event of a recall on one or more of your medications we will call you within 24 hours of the recall. Based on the severity of the recall we will work with you and your Prescriber to instruct you on the steps that need to be taken.
